Your day to dayWe have an exciting and unique opportunity for an energetic and customer focused go-getter to join our Reservations & Sales Teams at Crowne Plaza Canberra! As a Sales & Events Coordinator at Crowne Plaza Canberra, you will be proactive, independent and results driven. Based in our reservations team you will provide administrative and sales support to our reservations, group and events team. You will use your great communication skills to build relationships and drive revenue for the hotel. As part of the reservations team you’ll not only be the person guests they rely on to handle they booking process and confirmation, but also anticipate every detail of a friction-free experience. Attention to detail is a must as is strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsible to promptly respond to communications from guests, travel agents, and referral networks concerning reservations arriving by email, telephone, or through a central reservation system, qualify and present leads to the sales team for group, events and volume contracts. Creates and maintains reservation records. Prepares confirmations and promptly processes any cancellations and modifications. Knows the type of rooms available as well as their location and layout. Actively up-sells and conducts pre-arrival calls. Knows the credit policy of the hotel and how to code each reservation. Creates and maintains reservation records by date of arrival and alphabetical listing. Communicates reservation information to the front desk. Processes cancellations and modifications and promptly relays this information to the front desk. Understands the hotel's policy on guaranteed reservations and no-shows. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and coordinating of meetings and conference business, sporting groups and internal meetings for Crowne Plaza Canberra.
What we need from youYou’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. For this vital role, we're looking for someone who has outstanding skills in quoting and successfully converting new and repeat business for events and groups for the Hotel, and grow B2B relationships in the local community. An integral part of the team, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be responsible for both telephone and face to face communication to develop both new and already established business. Ideally, you'll have sound knowledge of sales, events and administration, be focused and have a strong commitment to customer service.
